Finance & Cost Analyst

FRI’s Finance & Cost Analyst will play a critical role in supporting a data-driven culture at the company. Primary focus will be on performing analyses that translate a high volume financial and non-financial information into digestible and actionable reports for users across the organization. Central to this will be leveraging the company’s ERP system to dig into the numbers and extract insights that help the organization better understand its costs. Particular focus will be on improving inventory costing and management. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Specific duties and responsibilities may vary but generally include:

  • Develop and monitory financial and non-financial Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) including:
    • profitability and overall productivity reporting by plant
    • operational scorecards to track metrics by shift, department, plant
    • labor and material utilization metrics
  • Update overhead rates and maintain annually with periodic cost reviews to verify actual to standard
  • Oversee annual physical inventory and coordinate obsolete inventory review
  • Play a key role in promoting initiatives to drive the continuous improvement of the ERP system 
  • Support development of operating plan and budget and ongoing tracking of actual costs
  • Develop forecasting tools to assist with business planning and decision making
  • Perform margin and return on investment analyses to support quoting/ capital investment activities
  • Support initiatives that leverage technology for the more efficient and timely collection of data

Specifications:  

  • BS in accounting, finance or another similar degree.
  • Strong understanding of core cost and financial concepts including cost accounting, profitability analysis, return on investment, budgeting and forecasting, among others
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with data analytics software a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to convey the ideas to non-technical audiences
